El Pueblo de Alcalalí
tourismmo-entrada The village of Alcalalí

The name Alcalalí is derived from Arabic. It was originally a settlement of potters, as attested by artefacts and utensils discovered in different excavations.

The village itself is enclaved deep in the heart of Vall del Pop. The municipality is surrounded by nature and incredible panoramic vistas which change with the seasons. The people of Alcalalí maintain the traditions and culture inherited from their ancestors and are known for their hospitality and informal friendliness.

The village centre still conserves the character and forms typical of a traditional Mediterranean town. Its basic structure is that of Arabic constructions; narrow steep streets on little hills and ridges. Throughout the whole village one can appreciate the finely wrought windows decorated with flowers and lace curtains.
